Directions: Design a graphic organizer or flow
chart using the Popplet application analyzing how the relationship between Mr.
Lincoln and Eugene develops to overcome Eugene’s hatred. Consider the following questions to help you develop your story map: What examples from the book can you find of their relationship at the beginning of the story? When did their relationship improve? What was the turning point where you could see they were becoming friends? What was their relationship at the end of the book? Use specific details from the story to map out these key points using Popplet.
Open the Popplet application and click “make new popplet.” Create a title for your popplet and press “ok.” Click the “settings” icon so that a dropdown box appears and click the first box that says “new popple.”

When you press “new popple” a box will pop up. You can enter your text in the box. When you highlight the box, four circles surround each of the sides. If you click on one of the circles, a new box will appear. For example, if you click on the circle on the right side of the box, a new box will appear to the right of your original box.

You can test out the other buttons, such as the “A” to change the font or the box to the left of the “A” to change the box color. Experiment with the different buttons until you create a complete flow chart or graphic organizer. Once you are finished, click “share” and save it to your iPad.
